Republic Day and Independence Day Celebrations

At the initiative of the local people, with the help of party members, Republic and Independence Day was celebrated with children and youth. The day begins with the hoisting of the flag and is followed by a procession. Independence Day is a day to remember the heroic martyrs of our country and their sacrifices. To celebrate this independence, we organize some inspirational plays and events with the help of some children and villagers. Volunteers from Balipara village also attended the function.

Women’s Day

The obvious and ultimate truth is that “women are the backbone of society.” By celebrating International Women’s Day, we bring women together and create awareness for the ongoing struggle for the rights of women and girls across the country so that they can lead full, healthy, and productive lives. When you empower a woman, you uplift the entire female community. When women and girls have access to education, and healthcare, and are involved in the decision-making process, their families, communities, and societies become more productive and stable.

Beauty Contest

It is true that everyone is beautiful in one way or another. Beauty is not just a form. Indigenous women are busy all day long. Although beautiful, they do not have the opportunity to decorate beautifully. So our organization organizes a competitive event with those marginalized women, so that women can be aware of themselves, can express their inner and outer beauty. So every year we organize beauty pageants for the purpose of taking care of their body and health. About 35-40 people participate in this competition every year. Attempts are made to encourage all the contestants by giving prizes.

Anandamela

On the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the 24th of January, a joy fair was organized with the local people and children of the village. The children themselves set up stalls at the fair and those who travel to the fair buy and sell items. The stalls are decorated with handmade food and various handicrafts for sale. Such fairs have become popular in the local and surrounding areas with a huge response from relatives.

Sports and Cultural Events

Bolpur Ikantik Society regularly organizes sports events like football (soccer), kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket, etc. Annual sports competitions are organized with the children of 3-4 villages every year. Women of old age and adult education centers also took part in the competition. A total of 150 contestants participated. The main goal is to bring out the hidden talents in our society who can bring respect to our beloved country by utilizing their talents without realizing that they are neglected and left behind.
